The All Progressives Youth Forum, APYF has applauded the decision of His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari to accept the resignations of the immediate past service chiefs.

The Forum notes that the now retired service chiefs, who were able to redeem their images in the eyes of Nigerians judging by the recent successes recorded in combating internal security challenges, especially terrorism, have no doubt ended their careers on a high note and deserve the best wishes of all Nigerians.

APYF, while acknowledging its earlier calls for the sack of the now retired service chiefs, said the later victories recorded in the twilight of their tenures was a testament to the best judgement of President Buhari.

The Forum, while congratulating Major-General Leo Irabor, the new Chief of Defense Staff; Major-General I. Attahiru, Chief of Army Staff; Rear Admiral A.Z. Gambo, Chief of Naval Staff and Air-Vice Marshal I. O. Amao, Chief of Air Staff for their appointments, beseech the new service chiefs to sustain and build on the recent successes achieved by their predecessors.

APYF prays that the tenure of the new security chiefs would advance the safety of Nigeria and its citizens.
