Kwara State Government has released details of its fresh intervention in water and energy sectors designed to improve the well-being of the citizenry.
According to information from Ministry of Water and Natural Resources, 13 boreholes are currently being drilled in seven local government areas across the three senatorial districts in the state.
The benefitting communities in Ilorin West include Odota/Saadu Agaka in Wara Osin, Ita-merin area in Ajikobi, Ita Egba area in Alanamu, Dada area in Ibagun and Elebu Village in Ogidi.
Others are Balogun Baare Area in Gambari II in Ilorin East, Bwereguru Village, Gure-Gwassoro in Baruteen LG, Ore Kan-Ajase Ipo in Irepodun LG, Shawo Olanrewaju (Open space) in Offa LG, Gaa Hammed, Alla in Isin LG, Amuyo and Alera villages via Share (Hand pump) in Ifelodun LG.
The Ministry of Energy also released details of its intervention in the energy sector. It said 18 transformers are currently being installed in different communities across 12 local government areas in Kwara state.
The benefiting communities are Aga- Agata Community; Akanbi lll, Sheikh Abdulkadir; Behind Royal Akanbi V and Magaji Okaka Compound; Okaka l,(Ilorin South), Elefun Area ; Alanamu, Ita Elefun Area; Alanamu and Abebi Akosile Com/oremeji,IGS Oko-Erin(Ilorin West) and Sinawa Village and Chikanda (Baruten).
Others include Isale- Koko Community; Gambari ll (Ilorin East), Tsado Area Patigi, Kpada l (Patigi), Iloffa Township, Iloffa (Oke Ero), Isanlu Isin Community Isanlu l (Isanlu Isin LG), Offa Community(Offa) , Elekoyangan Area; Abati Area (Moro), Gbagbu/Oladele Community and Oko/Kondoro (Asa), Sie Olomosojo Community ; Oro ll (Irepodun)and Igbaja Cottage Hospital; Igbaja (Ifelodun).
The state government noted that the intervention is in furtherance of Governor Ahmed’s shared prosperity agenda, stressing that every community in the state will continue to feel the impact of the current administration.
