This feat was achieved after members of the Transmission Company of Nigeria led by Mr. panguru K Lantham met with the Deputy Governor, Alh. Mohammed Ketso who is also the chairman power stability committee together with other state officials.
TCN has granted the request of Niger state Government to construct a substation and a land was identified around Maikinkule for the project.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Lands, Dr. Abdull Hussaini led the team to inspect the identified land and was accompanied by Surveyor General of the state, Idris Auna, Director Town Planning and Director Lands.
The substation when completed will complement the already existing substations in the state and improve power supply.
Arrangements are underway for acquisition and compensation for the land, these processes will be completed in few days so work can commence soonest.
Governor Abubakar Sani Bello’s effort to ensure the state enjoys stable power supply is slowly coming to fruition.
